Founded in the year 1963, the Bilbao Accordion Symphonic Orchestra, under the management of Amagoia Loroņo, daughter of the founder, the maestro Josu Loroņo, is a pioneer in our country. It is composed of righteous accordionists, being one of the best orchestras in Europe of its kind.

Amagoia Loroņo is as well the director of the music centre "Loroņo Musikaltegia" of Bilbao and together with a team of music and accordion professors, plays an important role in musical pedagogy, where all the orchestra components come from.

Its extensive repertory covering different categories (classical music, zarzuela, ballroom, int'l, popular, etc) can create a diverse program to accommodate the musical liking of people of different ages, sometimes neglected in a musical program more dedicated to a younger public.       
Aside from its own concerts in Bilbao, the Orchestra has performed hundreds of them in Germany, Poland, France, Portugal, Colombia, several Spanish and Basque cities, and specially featuring the Galician tour and the several concerts among the theatres in the community of Madrid.
Furthermore, the Bilbao Accordion Symphonic Orchestra has created a didactic show called "DO RE MI KA " where by means of several musical examples, diverse musical and orchestra "secrets" are shown to the public. "DO RE MI KA " in its Basque version and under the collaboration of the "Diputacion Foral de Bizkaia (provincial basque government)" is being performed around the theatres of Bizkaia in a campaign dedicated to the young students of Bizkaia.
Maestro Josu Loroņo has been distinguished with different rewards from different institutions due to his unceasing artistic career. Some of these tributes have been given by the Excma. Diputacion Foral de Bizkaia and the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de la Villa de Bilbao. The pedagogic and professional work of Maestro Josu Loroņo has spread to the Conservatorio Superior de Musica Juan Crisostomo Arriaga as teacher of harmony, as well as taking part as a jury in national and international accordion competitions.
